From Chicago Shakespeare Theater and Goodman Theatre to Second City and Steppenwolf Theatre Company, tickets to shows across the Chicago area go on sale right after the new year begins. (The Hashtag is #CTW25)
Mark the calendar for 10 a.m. Jan. 7, 2025 to get in on sale tickets for ChicagoTheatreWeek.com. CTW is Feb. 6-16, 2025. But tickets at the $15, $30 or less will quickly disappear.
HotTix.org will host Chicago Theatre Week from Feb. 17 to 23, 2025 which will extend Theatre Week discounts to participating productions for an additional week.

Downtown, see “Les Miserables,” a Broadway in Chicago production at CIBC, “Cabaret” at Porchlight Music Theatre or “Toni Stone” at Goodman. In the burbs go to “Into the Woods at Paramount in Aurora, “A Chorus Line” at Drury Theatre in Oakbrook, “The Christians” at Citadel in Lake Forest or ” Andy Warhol in Iran” at Northlight in Skokie.
Those are just a few of the highly recommended shows now playing in the Chicago area that are at theaters whose tickets are discounted during Chicago Theatre Week, Feb 16-26, 2023.
With more than 60 theatres in and around Chicago participating, now is a good chance to get good value for good theatre. Tickets range from $15 to $30.
Instead of trying to snag tickets to hot shows at bargain prices during Chicago Theatre Week, the annual event happens online in 2021 from Feb. 25 to March 7.
Coordinated by the League of Chicago Theatres with Choose Chicago the event will switch to digital content and theatre support.
Along with enabling theater-lovers to see shows without changing out of sweats and pjs, it will be a good chance to discover different theatre companies and use money saved to keep Chicago’s vibrant theatre scene alive for another year.
“While nothing can truly replace in-person performances, theatres across Chicagoland have been finding new ways to produce their art,” said Deb Clapp, League of Chicago Theatres executive director.
He added, This year, we invite the community to engage with their favorite companies—or discover new ones—during Theatre Week. Until we can welcome audiences back into our theatres, we invite you to learn about, engage with, and support Chicago theatres during Chicago Theatre Week 2021.”

A is for an amazing art show of the works of homegrown, internationally known artist, Winifred Godfrey. B stands for boat show. The annual Chicago Boat, RV and Sail Show is back in town. Held now through Jan. 14, 2018 at McCormick Place, 2301 S. Lake Shore Drive, the show becomes a fun family day. C banishes the doldrums with comedy. The Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival returns to the city Jan. 11 through 21, 2018 at Stage 773. The venue is a theater complex at 1225 W. Belmont Ave. What to expect: 130 shows by returning troupes and new artists. Among the highlights is “ The Future is Female: A discussion with women about the climate of Chicago comedy,” Jan. 20, 3 p.m. in the Thrust theater with panelists from The Second City, Susan Messing of Annoyance Theater and WGN Radio’s Patti Vasquez. D is for that important word “discount” because $10 and $15 or less tickets are now available for Chicago Theatre Week.
